Recommended Lifter Installation
- Inspect every lifter body and roller for visible damage before installation.
- Verify each roller spins freely without binding.
- Wipe each lifter body with a clean, lint-free rag.
- Apply engine oil to the exterior of each lifter body. Do not soak the lifters before installation.
- Thoroughly clean the top end of the engine to prevent debris from entering the lifters during startup.
- Inspect rocker arms, pushrod ends, and valve tips for excessive wear. Replace components as necessary.
- Install the lifters and set preload to the recommended specification.
- Change the engine oil and filter after the first 50 miles to remove debris that may have been missed during assembly.
