Factory Lifter Trays Are Not Used: The link-bar design replaces the need for factory plastic lifter guide trays. Remove the original plastic lifter trays during installation.
Preload Verification Required: Set lifter preload to the recommended .035" +/- .010" specification and verify pushrod length, rocker arm geometry, valve spring setup, and complete valvetrain clearance during assembly.
Performance Valvetrain Component: These lifters are intended for properly matched camshaft, pushrod, rocker arm, valve spring, and cylinder head combinations. Advanced engine-building knowledge is recommended.

Recommended Lifter Installation

Inspect every lifter body and roller for visible damage before installation.
Verify each roller spins freely without binding.
Wipe each lifter body with a clean, lint-free rag.
Apply engine oil to the exterior of each lifter body. Do not soak the lifters before installation.
Thoroughly clean the top end of the engine to prevent debris from entering the lifters during startup.
Inspect rocker arms, pushrod ends, and valve tips for excessive wear. Replace components as necessary.
Install the lifters and set preload to the recommended specification.
Change the engine oil and filter after the first 50 miles to remove debris that may have been missed during assembly.
