Product Description
JOHNSON Slow Leakdown Lifters – LS Engines 2110R
Set of 16 Hydraulic-Roller Lifters – Uses OEM Lifter Trays – .035" Recommended Pre-Load ±.010"
Johnson's 2110R race-style drop-in lifters are built for LS/LT engines not running DOD/AFM. Designed for applications ranging from mild street builds to full race engines, these lifters are considered by many top engine builders to be the pinnacle of LS/LT valvetrain reliability. They utilize OEM-style lifter trays and offer exceptional durability, precise leakdown control, and superior high-RPM stability.
Key Features
- Premium construction: Cold-forged 1018 steel body, CNC machined, and heat-treated for exceptional wear resistance.
- Durable roller system: Precision-ground needle roller bearing with high-chromium steel axle for long life and minimal friction.
- Controlled leakdown: Extra-long cold-forged piston precision-fitted for slow leakdown, maintaining lift without collapsing.
- High-RPM capable: Successfully tested past 8,500 RPM with zero axle retention issues.
- Industry-leading check valve: Largest disc-style check valve in the industry for superior oil control and response.
Proven Performance
- GM tested these lifters against LS7, Cadillac Racing, and Morel lifters—Johnson 2110R was the only model with no axle retention failures.
- Maintains 95% of cam lift under operation vs. 50% for LS7 lifters.
- Improves cold start noise by reducing bleed-down rate under high valve spring pressures.
- Encapsulated roller design handles higher spring loads than open fork designs.
Fitment
- LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, LY5, LMG, LMF, LH6, LC9, LY2, L20, L33, LQ4, LQ9, LR4, LM4, LM7, L59, LS4, LH8, LH9, L99, L92, L94, L96, L9H, LY6
- LT1, LT4, L83, L86, L84, L87, L8T
Recommended Lifter Installation
- Inspect lifters for any signs of body or wheel damage.
- Ensure rollers spin freely without binding.
- Wipe lifter body with a lint-free rag; coat exterior with engine oil (do not soak).
- Prevent debris contamination by cleaning the top end of the engine before startup.
- Inspect rocker arms, pushrod ends, and valve tips for wear—replace as needed.
- Install lifters and set preload to .035" ±.010".
- Change oil and filter after 50 miles to remove any debris missed during assembly.

JOHNSON 2110R SLOW LEAKDOWN LIFTERS - LS
Sometimes people say, "you have to pay to play". Anybody who chooses Johnson lifters knows from reviews and research that these are some of the best lifters on the market. If GM Performance chose to go to Johnson lifters, that says something about the shear quality of their product. For the LS1 in the C5 Corvette, I chose to go with these lifters, Michigan Motorsports upgraded GM rocker arms, dual valve springs, titanium retainers. Along with their LS1 .613/.605 lift BTR stage 1 cam kit, I feel that I am getting the most lift and duration from the cam without much or any loss due to lifter compression. These lifters were tested by GM Performance and outperformed the LS7 lifters. That's all I needed to know to decide to go with the more expensive option. I'm not taking any chances with the engine in my 2004 Corvette by going with cheap no name lifters that can fail under the demands of the higher lift cam and dual valve springs. I would have gone with LS7 lifters, but Johnson lifters are shown to perform better so that's what's in my engine.
