Michigan Motorsports Gen 4 LS Oil Pan Oil-Pressure Relief Valve Bypass Plug
Fits Compatible 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L & 6.2L LS-Based V8 Engines Without DOD/AFM or VVT
Eliminate the secondary oil-pressure relief valve found inside the rear of compatible Gen 4 LS oil pans with this bypass plug. The factory valve can become clogged with engine debris and contribute to low oil-pressure conditions. This plug permanently closes the valve location in engines that do not use DOD/AFM or VVT, including compatible performance builds where those systems have been removed.

- Eliminates the Secondary Relief Valve: This plug replaces the secondary oil-pressure relief valve located inside the rear of compatible Gen 4 LS oil pans. It provides a permanent solution for engine configurations that no longer require the factory valve.
- Helps Prevent Debris-Related Oil-Pressure Problems: Engine debris can clog the factory relief valve and prevent it from operating correctly, potentially contributing to low oil pressure. Removing the valve and sealing its passage eliminates this potential failure point in compatible engine combinations.
- Designed for Non-DOD/AFM Applications: The bypass plug is intended for engines that were built without DOD/AFM or have been converted to a non-DOD/AFM configuration. It should not be installed in an engine that still requires the factory system to operate.
- Compatible with Non-VVT Engine Builds: This plug may also be used in compatible Gen 4 LS applications that do not use VVT or have been converted to a non-VVT configuration. Engine configuration must match the intended use of the bypass plug.
- Broad Gen 4 LS Application Coverage: Designed for compatible gasoline-powered 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.2L LS-based V8 engines, this plug covers numerous Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Hummer and Pontiac car, truck, SUV and van applications.
Notes
- Intended only for compatible engines without functional DOD/AFM or VVT systems.
- Installation requires removal of the oil pan from the engine.
- Tighten the bypass plug to 22 lb-ft.
