Convert a compatible Gen IV 5.3L LS engine to a non-DOD/AFM valvetrain configuration with this Michigan Motorsports DOD/AFM Delete Kit. The package combines a complete set of Delphi LS7 lifters, GM lifter trays, an ICT Billet valley cover and the essential head and exhaust sealing components needed during the conversion. It provides a convenient foundation for restoring a stock-style engine or upgrading to a compatible performance camshaft.

- Complete Non-DOD/AFM Valvetrain Conversion: The kit replaces the original DOD/AFM lifters and related valley components with 16 Delphi LS7 lifters, four GM lifter guide trays and an ICT Billet valley cover. These matched components provide the core hardware required to convert a compatible Gen IV 5.3L engine.
- ICT Billet Valley Cover: The included ICT Billet DOD delete valley cover provides a clean replacement for the original DOD/AFM valley cover assembly. ICT components 551605 and 551623 include the oil-sensor adapter, valley-cover seal and mounting bolts required for the new cover configuration.
- Delphi LS7 Replacement Lifters: A complete set of 16 Delphi LS7 lifters, part number 25341990, replaces the original DOD/AFM lifters. The set supports the required transition to a compatible non-DOD camshaft and conventional eight-cylinder valvetrain operation.
- Head and Exhaust Sealing Components: The package includes a pair of 5.3L/5.7L MLS head gaskets, a 2004-and-newer LS head-bolt kit and a pair of multi-layer steel exhaust manifold/header gaskets. Including these components simplifies sourcing the required replacement hardware and gaskets during cylinder-head removal.
- Supports Stock-Style or Performance Camshaft Builds: The kit can be paired with an appropriate non-DOD camshaft selected for the intended engine configuration. GM camshaft 12689035 is recommended for compatible 5.3L engines without VVT, while compatible performance camshafts from Brian Tooley Racing and Texas Speed can support more performance-focused combinations.

Notes
- A non-DOD camshaft is required and is not included. Retaining the original DOD/AFM camshaft may cause engine misfires.
- The DOD/AFM system must be disabled in the vehicle’s ECU after installation.
- No manufacturer warranty is provided on the lifters.

AFM Delete Kit
I definitely recommend this kit, all parts fit exactly as intended, I used this kit on my 2007 suburban and have now about 5k miles without any issues. I had also purchased separately intake gaskets, plugs, plug wires, new water pump and a stock non-AFM camshaft which was necessary to complete the delete all from Michigan Motorsports, very happy with results. I did opt to purchase a Diablosport predator 2 platinum tuner to turn off the AFM in the ECM as well as use the tune for the 87 Octane pre configured in the tuner, which was a definite bonus. Also of note, in addition to using the ICT valley plate I did use tapered roller bearings to plug the valve ports.

A great kit overall. All parts are top quality. Thanks to the tech support when ordering the kit they recommended the LS Oil Pan Oil Pressure Relief Valve Plug for 2007+ LS3 L99 L96 L92 LMG LC9 L77 L76 LH6 4.8L 5.3L 6.0L 6.2L Bypass Delete MM-1202PlugKit. If you plan on using the oil pressure sending unit on top of the valley plate you will need to drill the plate and purchase the adapter. Very easy to do as the plate is already marked with the locator hole. Great product and well worth the money!
