This O-ring seals pressure for the torque converter clutch (TCC) lockup circuit. A seal that is hardened from age/heat or that has been damaged during torque converter installation will cause slow/soft torque converter lockup engagement or prevent it completely, causing excessive wear to the converter lockup clutch. This Genuine GM replacement will provide a long, reliable service life compared to cheaper aftermarket seals that tend to be made from lower quality material.
