Recommended Installation Steps

1. Inspect the lifters: Check for any visible damage on the lifter body or wheel.
2. Verify roller function: Ensure each roller spins freely without binding.
3. Clean the lifter body: Wipe each lifter with a lint-free rag to remove contaminants.
4. Apply engine oil: Lightly coat the lifter exterior with engine oil (do not soak the lifters).
5. Eliminate debris: Clean the top end of the engine thoroughly—debris entering a lifter is the leading cause of lifter failure.
6. Inspect valvetrain components: Check rocker arms, pushrod ends, and valve tips for excessive wear and replace as necessary.
7. Install lifters & set preload: Install the lifters and set preload to .035" ± .010" for proper performance.
8. Perform break-in maintenance: Change the engine oil and filter after 50 miles to remove any remaining debris.
