Product Description
BTR V2 1.7 Ratio Shaft Rocker Arm Kit for Frankenstein M311 Monster Heads
Preassembled Brian Tooley Racing Shaft Rocker System with High-Strength BTR Rocker Bodies
Improve valvetrain stability in a performance LS engine equipped with Frankenstein M311 Monster cylinder heads using the Brian Tooley Racing V2 shaft rocker arm kit. The factory-style individual rocker mounting used in Chevrolet Gen III and Gen IV cylinder heads can allow valvetrain deflection under demanding operating conditions. BTR’s shaft-mounted design significantly reduces that movement to support improved valvetrain control, performance and durability.
This application-specific system combines billet-steel rocker stands, genuine 52100 bearing-steel shafts, fasteners, bearings and all-new 1.7 ratio BTR rocker arm bodies. Each rocker pair is secured to its stand with five fasteners instead of relying on the traditional single-bolt-per-rocker arrangement. The updated V2 kit replaces the previous snap-ring configuration with a higher-strength shim design and arrives preassembled for installation on Frankenstein M311 Monster Heads.
Key Features & Benefits
- Preassembled 1.7 Ratio BTR Rocker Bodies: The V2 shaft rocker kit arrives assembled with all-new, high-strength BTR rocker arm bodies in a 1.7 ratio drop-in design. FEA analysis found these rocker bodies to be 46% stronger than stock Chevrolet rocker arms.
- Reduced Valvetrain Deflection: The shared shaft system provides a more rigid mounting structure than the traditional individual rocker-bolt arrangement. Each pair of rockers uses five fasteners to secure it to the rocker stand, significantly reducing deflection under demanding valvetrain conditions.
- Billet-Steel Stands and 52100 Steel Shafts: The system uses billet-steel rocker stands with four shafts per cylinder head and shafts manufactured from genuine 52100 bearing steel. BTR evaluated both aluminum and steel stand designs during development before selecting steel for the finished system.
- Updated V2 Shim Design: This second-generation shaft rocker kit replaces the previous snap-ring arrangement with an updated shim-based design. The revised configuration provides easier assembly and higher strength while retaining the rigid shaft-mounted architecture developed for the Frankenstein M311 Monster Heads.
- Extended Rocker Tip Geometry: The extended-tip rocker design accommodates higher valve lift while promoting improved valve-tip durability. Its superior moment of inertia compared with roller-tip rocker arms also supports the maximum-RPM capability demanded by performance-oriented LS engine combinations.
