Product Description
Michigan Motorsports 7.800" Chromoly 5/16" Pushrods - Set of 16
Commonly Used for 1985-Earlier Small Block Chevrolet Engines with Flat Tappet Camshafts
Complete the valvetrain in a compatible Small Block Chevrolet engine with this set of 16 Michigan Motorsports 7.800-inch chromoly pushrods. Each one-piece pushrod is precision formed from SAE 4130 chromoly tubing with a 5/16-inch diameter and .080-inch wall thickness, then centerless ground to exacting tolerances and case hardened to Rc 60.
Key Features & Benefits
- 7.800-Inch Pushrod Length: Each pushrod measures 7.800 inches long, a length commonly used in 1985-earlier Small Block Chevrolet engines equipped with flat tappet camshafts. This clearly defined length helps builders select the correct pushrod for the supplied SBC application.
- SAE 4130 Chromoly Construction: These pushrods are manufactured from SAE 4130 chromoly tubing for the strength and rigidity required in compatible valvetrain combinations. The specified material provides a durable foundation for each precision-formed, one-piece pushrod.
- 5/16-Inch Diameter with .080-Inch Wall: A 5/16-inch outside diameter is combined with a substantial .080-inch wall thickness. These exact dimensions provide a strong pushrod profile while allowing builders to evaluate the component against their valvetrain’s length and clearance requirements.
- One-Piece Precision-Formed Design: Each pushrod uses one-piece precision-formed construction to maintain consistent strength throughout the component. The pushrods are also centerless ground to exacting tolerances, supporting uniform external dimensions throughout the complete set.
- Case Hardened Complete Set: The pushrods are case hardened to Rc 60 to create a durable exterior surface that complements the SAE 4130 chromoly construction. Each package contains 16 matching pushrods for one compatible V8 engine.
Notes
- For later LS7 roller-camshaft engines that also use a 7.800" length, Michigan Motorsports recommends larger 3/8"-diameter pushrods.
- For 1986-later Small Block Chevrolet engines with factory roller camshafts, use the Michigan Motorsports 7.200"-length pushrods.
