Important Installation Notes
- Non-DFM Camshaft Required: A non-DFM camshaft must be installed when completing this conversion.
- Optional Camshaft Available: Michigan Motorsports offers a 6.2L AFM/DFM conversion camshaft with the same specs as the stock L87 camshaft, but without the DFM lobes.
- ECU Calibration Required: The DFM system must be programmed off in the vehicle’s computer.
- Head Bolt Thread Cleaning: It is highly recommended to clean the head bolt threads in the block with a thread chaser such as ARP 912-0016 before installing new fasteners.
- Fastener Warning: Factory thread compound can remain in the block threads. Failure to clean the threads properly can cause new fasteners to stretch or break before reaching final torque.
