Product Description
AFM DOD Delphi Valve Lifter Kit for Chevy GMC 5.3L 6.0L 6.2L
Includes 8 AFM/DOD Delphi Lifters, 8 Standard Delphi Lifters & 4 Lifter Guide Trays
This AFM/DOD Delphi Valve Lifter Kit is designed for GM 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines equipped with Active Fuel Management or Displacement on Demand. The kit includes eight Delphi AFM/DOD lifters, eight standard Delphi lifters, and four new lifter guide trays, making it a complete replacement solution for servicing the factory valvetrain. These components replace several common OE and aftermarket lifter part numbers and are ideal for repairing failed AFM lifters in stock applications. Because AFM/DOD lifter failures are often caused by oil pressure issues, VLOM faults, worn lifter bores, or plugged filters, proper diagnosis and supporting component inspection are critical during installation.

Key Features & Benefits
- Complete AFM/DOD Lifter Service Kit – Includes 8 Delphi AFM/DOD lifters, 8 standard Delphi lifters, and 4 new lifter guide trays to service one complete GM V8 engine valvetrain.
- Uses Trusted Delphi Lifters – Built with Delphi lifters for OEM-style fitment, proper oil control, and dependable operation in factory AFM/DOD-equipped applications.
- Includes New Lifter Guide Trays – Replacing the guide trays is critical when servicing failed AFM lifters to help maintain proper lifter alignment and prevent repeat valvetrain issues.
- Direct Replacement Coverage – Replaces common part numbers 12569256, 12571595, 12619820, 12639516, HL177, and HL178 for simplified service parts matching.
- Designed for Stock AFM/DOD Repair – Ideal for restoring original operation on 5.3L, 6.0L, and 6.2L GM engines that retain the factory AFM/DOD system.
Notes & Installation Information
- No Warranty – These lifters do not include any warranty due to the high failure rate associated with underlying AFM/DOD system issues.
- AFM/DOD Failures Are Often System Related – Many lifter failures are caused by oil pressure problems, VLOM control faults, clogged VLOM oil filters, or worn lifter bores rather than the lifters alone.
- Critical Supporting Inspections Required – Any time AFM lifters fail, the lifter guides should be replaced, lifter bores should be measured, and the VLOM should be tested or replaced for proper operation.
- Oil System Health Matters – The AFM system operates within a specific oil pressure range, and even minor lifter bore wear can bleed off enough oil pressure to keep the locking pins from releasing correctly.
- Recommended Alternative – For long-term reliability, a complete DOD/AFM lifter conversion kit with traditional lifters is often the preferred solution.
Key Fitments
- GM 5.3L Engines – For stock GM applications equipped with Active Fuel Management / Displacement on Demand lifter systems.
- GM 6.0L Engines – Designed for OEM-style AFM/DOD lifter replacement in compatible Chevrolet and GMC applications.
- GM 6.2L Engines – Fits factory AFM/DOD-equipped engines using this mixed AFM and standard lifter configuration.
