The Genuine GM 12697806 VLOM (Valve Lifter Oil Manifold) Valley Cover Assembly is the OEM replacement for Gen V LT engines equipped with Active Fuel Management (AFM/DOD). The VLOM controls oil flow to the AFM lifters and is critical for proper cylinder deactivation system operation. Worn solenoids, electrical faults, or internal leaks within the VLOM can lead to unintended cylinder deactivation, lifter collapse, and engine performance issues. For this reason, GM recommends replacing the VLOM whenever servicing AFM lifters to prevent premature lifter failure. This Genuine GM assembly includes the valley cover, integrated solenoids, new gasket, and mounting bolts to ensure proper installation and reliable operation.
