Mahle's 54441 Multi-Layer Steel Head Gaskets are specifically designed for the 2001-earlier 4.8L and 5.3L truck/SUV heads that have a "notch" in the cylinder head deck, preventing them from sealing with a conventional MLS gasket. These gaskets can also be used on the later heads that do not have the notch. If you are unsure whether your heads have the notch or not, these are the ideal gasket to get since they will work on both styles of heads. This high quality, 3 layer Multi Layer Steel head gasket is stronger and more reliable than graphite/paper gaskets.
- Fits 4.8L and 5.3L LS-Based engines. Will not fit 5.7L/6.0L/6.2L engines.
- .050" compressed thickness (matches stock thickness).
- Suitable for use on "Notched" 862 head castings.
- Will also work on heads without the notched decks.
