The Michigan Motorsports LS 2004+ Head Bolt Kit is a stock-replacement, torque-to-yield (TTY) fastener set engineered to meet OEM specifications for mid-2004 through 2014 LS-based engines. These bolts deliver proper clamping force and sealing reliability on rebuilds or top-end service. Note: Torque-To-Yield head bolts are single-use and must be replaced after being torqued.
Fitment & Identification
GM used two different LS head bolt styles. Verify which your engine requires:
- 1997–2003 engines (early Gen 3): 8 × 155 mm bolts, 2 × 100 mm bolts, 5 × 45 mm bolts.
- Mid-2004–2013 engines (late Gen 3 / Gen 4): 10 × 100 mm bolts, 5 × 45 mm bolts (this kit).
Model Year 2004 note: If 8 of the 10 larger head bolts per head are longer and 2 are shorter, you need the 1997–2003 style. If all 10 larger bolts are the same length, use the 2004-later style (this kit).
Choose Your Kit
- One Head: Enough fasteners for a single cylinder head.
- Both Heads (Complete Engine): Fasteners for two cylinder heads.
Why Choose Michigan Motorsports
- Direct OEM-style replacement for mid-2004–2013 LS applications.
- Correct mixed-length assortment for the late bolt pattern (10 × 100 mm, 5 × 45 mm per head).
- Reliable torque-to-yield design for consistent clamping and sealing.
Important
- These bolts are single-use: do not reuse after torquing—they stretch by design.
- Always follow OE torque and angle procedures.
- NOTE: On these engines it is highly recommended to clean out the head bolt threads in the block with a chaser such as ARP 912-0011 (click here) due to the thread compound that was used on the factory bolts. Failure to do so can result in new fasteners stretching or breaking before reaching final torque.
