Product Description
Dura-Bond CHP-10 High Performance Camshaft Bearing Set – 1997-2003 GM LS Engines
Upgraded Load-Capacity Cam Bearings for 1st Design LS Blocks
The Dura-Bond CHP-10 camshaft bearing set is a high performance, higher load-capacity version of the standard CH-10 bearing, engineered specifically for 1997–2003 “1st Design” GM LS engine blocks. Designed to withstand increased valvetrain loads, aggressive cam profiles, and performance spring pressures, this set delivers exceptional durability and precision for serious LS builds.
Built using seamless steel construction with a thin layer of lead-based babbitt material, CHP-10 bearings provide outstanding embeddability, conformability, and anti-seizure protection. This proven bimetal design reduces the risk of engine damage under high load conditions while maintaining consistent oil clearance and camshaft stability.
Key Features & Benefits
- High Load-Capacity Design: Performance-focused upgrade over CH-10 bearings, ideal for aggressive camshafts and increased spring pressures.
- Fits 1st Design LS Blocks: Designed for 1997–2003 LS engines where bearing positions 1 and 5 housing bores measure 2.3260" to 2.3280".
- Seamless Steel Construction: Eliminates bearing breakage and surface interruptions during installation while providing uniform structural integrity.
- Lead-Based Babbitt Layer: Superior embeddability and anti-seizure characteristics reduce engine failures compared to harder bearing materials.
- Precision Machined Tolerances: Centerless ground OD and bored ID with wall variations under .0004" for consistent oil clearance and optimal cam support.
Fitment Requirements
Fits 1997–2003 “1st Design” GM LS engine blocks where cam bearing position 1 and 5 housing bores measure 2.3260"–2.3280".
Important: Second design 2003 blocks with larger housing bores require CHP-23 or CHP-25 cam bearing sets.
