    The Michigan Motorsports 1997–2003 LS9 Head Gaskets and Bolt Kit is the perfect solution for rebuilding or upgrading early LS-based engines. Featuring LS9 7-layer MLS head gaskets and the correct early-style head bolts, this kit provides the durability and reliability needed for high-performance naturally aspirated, turbocharged, and supercharged builds. Designed to withstand extreme cylinder pressures, these gaskets are the go-to choice for LS enthusiasts pushing serious horsepower.

    Kit Includes

    • LS9 Head Gaskets (best choice for most LS builds)
    • 2 Sets of early-style head bolts (8 long and 2 short bolts per head)

    Fitment & Bolt Style Information

    Prior to 2004, Gen 3/Gen 4 GM small-block LS engines used mixed-length head bolts (long and short). In early 2004, GM switched to the later style, which uses all shorter bolts. This kit provides the correct early-style bolts for 1997–2003 engines.

    Be sure to confirm your engine’s design before ordering:

    • 1997–2003 Engines: Use this kit with 8 long bolts and 2 short bolts per head.
    • 2004+ Engines: Require the later-style bolts (all short) – not included in this kit.

    • 4.100" bore, .055" compressed thickness, 7-layer construction.
    • Proven to handle 1000+ horsepower with ARP fasteners.

    NOTE: On these engines it is highly recommended to clean out the head bolt threads in the block with a chaser such as ARP 912-0011 (click here) due to the thread compound that was used on the factory bolts. Failure to do so can result in new fasteners stretching or breaking before reaching final torque.

      Great pricing and quality to get this kit. Easy install and bolts torqued down perfectly
